Documenting families without pressure, posing, or performance.
In-home, documentary style family photography designed with autistic children in mind. I provide autism-affirming, pressure-free family photography for neurodivergent children and their families living in the Greater Houston Area. My sessions prioritize regulation, consent, and connection over compliance and demands, allowing families to be documented as they truly are - without masking, rushing, or forcing moments that don't feel safe.
Family Photography Redefined
If you've ever worried that your child was "too much" for a photo session - they aren't. Your child doesn't need to change to be photographed. Cherished moments can be captured at their pace and in the comfort of their own home with NeuroKind Family Photography. Every family's unique story should be celebrated with understanding, kindness, and care.
Specialized Autism-Friendly Photography
Neuro-Affirming and Sensory-Aware
NeuroKind photography sessions are designed for families with autism. I strive to create a comfortable environment that respects sensory needs, ensuring everyone feels relaxed and valued. My goal is to capture genuine and joyful moments that feel safe.
Relaxed Family Portraits
I follow your child's lead and photograph what naturally unfolds. My autism friendly approach ensures everyone feels at ease, allowing your family's unique connection to shine through. You deserve photos without bracing yourself for stress.
Cozy, In-Home Shoots
My in-home sessions provide a way to capture beautiful, honest family photos in an environment that feels the safest to your child allowing them to open up and shine. No piling into the car and driving to an unfamiliar location just to have a stranger bark orders at you.
Less Demands, More Joy
Sessions are flexible and child-led. Your child doesn't need to be told to smile, sit, or look at the camera. I let children lead the session to capture natural moments - respecting nervous systems, not overriding them.
Connection over Compliance
My primary focus is on creating a comfortable space where families can connect naturally. My approach values authentic family moments over posed perfection, ensuring a true reflection of your unique bond and deep love.
Flexible Timing and Built In Breaks
We offer a slower, gentler approach to family photography. Movement, noise, stimming, and breaks are always welcome. If your child needs space, time, or a pause, that's part of the process - not a problem.
About Your Photographer
Hi, I'm Taylor and I'm a blessed (and tired lol) mom to two amazing autistic boys. Elijah and Jonah are only 17 months apart and just starting school. Being their mom has been the hardest and most beautiful thing I've ever done. They've taught me so much about myself, about life, and they make me a better person every day.
I’ve been a professional photographer for over 14 years, and throughout that time I’ve worked with families, individuals, and women in deeply personal spaces. What those experiences taught me is that the most meaningful images never come from forcing moments — they come from safety, trust, and being allowed to show up as you are. NeuroKind was born from that understanding.
My approach is slow, observant, and child-led. I prioritize comfort, consent, and connection over poses or perfection. Your child is never asked to perform, make eye contact, or push past their limits for the sake of a photo. Movement, noise, stimming, breaks, and regulation needs are not only allowed here — they’re welcome.
I’m currently completing ABA training to get a license as a Registered Behavior Technician - not because I want to work as an RBT- but solely for the purpose of adding additional knowledge and tools to my autism mama "tool belt" to not only support my own children better, but my clients as well. This education further shapes how I can show up with families — with greater awareness of nervous systems, the varied presentations of autism in individuals, early signs of overwhelm, and the importance of assent. While my sessions are not clinical in any sense, they are intentionally designed to be autism-affirming, sensory-aware, and grounded in respect and understanding.
This work is personal for me. It’s informed by my professional experience, my parenting journey, and my own lived experience as an autistic adult. I know what it’s like to brace yourself for appointments that aren’t built for your child — and I also know the relief of being in a space where you don’t have to explain or apologize.
Whether your child is quiet or energetic, sensory-seeking or easily overwhelmed, non-speaking, constantly moving, or in need of frequent breaks — they are welcome here. Your family doesn’t need to change to be photographed.
My hope is that when you look back at your images, you don’t just see what your family looked like — you remember how it felt to be safe, understood, and accepted exactly as you are.

What makes NeuroKind Family Photography autism-friendly?
Where is NeuroKind Family Photography located?
My home base is located in League City, Texas, and I offer my unique services to families in the Greater Houston Area.
How can I book a session with NeuroKind Family Photography?
You ca reach out through the contact form and we'll take things one step at a time. There's no rush.
What should we expect during a photography session?
Sessions are intentionally flexible and unhurried.
I begin by observing and letting your child acclimate. I follow their lead, move at their pace, and photograph what naturally unfolds rather than directing or posing.
There is:
No expectation to sit still
No expectation to smile
No expectation to make eye contact
Movement, noise, stimming, wandering, breaks, and pauses are all welcome. If your child needs space or time, we honor that without rushing or pressure.
I prioritize what feels safe over what looks “perfect.”
Is NeuroKind Family Photography a good fit for my family?
NeuroKind is a good fit for families who value comfort, connection, and authenticity over posed or traditional images. If you’re looking for a calm, child-led experience where your child does not need to perform, you’re in the right place.
My child doesn’t like strangers. Will this still work?
Many autistic children need time to warm up — and that’s expected here. I move slowly, observe first, and never force interaction. Some children engage quickly, others take longer, and some prefer parallel presence. All of those are okay.
What if my child doesn’t “cooperate”?
There is no expectation of cooperation.
Your child will never be asked to do something that doesn’t feel safe or regulating. I don’t view behavior as a problem — I view it as communication.
What if my child needs frequent breaks?
Breaks are built into the experience. Pausing, regulating, wandering, or disengaging are all part of the session — not interruptions.
Do you work with non-speaking or minimally speaking children?
Of course. Communication looks many different ways, and all of them are respected here.
Will you pose us at all?
I offer gentle guidance when it feels supportive, but I don’t force poses. Most sessions are documentary-style, focusing on natural connection and interaction.
Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions take place in your home or a familiar outdoor space close to it. Being in an environment your child already knows often helps support regulation and comfort.
What if the session doesn’t go how we hoped?
There is no “failure” here.
Every session is different, and every child shows up differently. I photograph what is real and respectful in the moment — not an imagined ideal.
Are these like ABA or therapy sessions?
No. While I’m completing training as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), photography sessions are not clinical or therapeutic. That training simply informs how I show up — with awareness, patience, and respect for nervous systems and assent.
